Hawks vs Bulls

Hawks jumped out to an early 6-0 start over Chicago. After a Nikola Mirotic three, Kent knocked down a three to put the Hawks up 12-5 with 8:00 left in 1Q. The ball movement for the Hawks was great and Tiago dished two amazing assists in the paint, Al Horford posted up Taj Gibson, and the Hawks were up 18-10 with 5:50 left. The Hawks showed a lot of energy in the first quarter, most notably, a lob from Kent Bazemore to Tim Hardaway, Jr. for the dunk seen around the world. Hawks led Chicago 30-19 at the end of the first quarter.

A great start to the 2nd quarter as Jeff re-entered the game after limping off in the 1st. Al Horford with the block, and then a dunk on the other end. Hawks went on a mini 5-0 run after Bud called a timeout due to a run from the Bulls to pull it within 10. Hawks 62-47 with 1:30 in the 2Q. Hawks were up 64-51 at halftime.

Bulls opened the quarter with a jumper from Jimmy Butler that was answered by free throws from Kent. Hawks lead was down to 11. Mitotic banked in a three, Hawks’ lead down to six with 9:34 in the 3Q. Paul Millsap found Kyle Korver for the three and the Bulls turned the ball over, the Hawks were up 75-62 with 7:14 left in 3Q. A quarter of runs and it was a 3-point game until Tiago drew the foul with 4:11 left in the third. His trip to the line put the Hawks up five. Derrick Rose with a trip to the line would make it a 2-point game until a Dennis Schröder three. The Bulls outscored the Hawks 32-25 in the third quarter but the Hawks ended it with a bang as Mike Scott put back THJ’s missed three attempt with a one-handed dunk. Hawks were up 89-83 at the end of the third.

Al Horford and Mike Scott with a big start to the fourth quarter. After back-to-back buckets from Doug McDermott, Hawks took a timeout but they were up 102-91 with 8:05 left in the game and in complete control. Al “Bawse” Horford recorded a season-high 33 points in the win while notching a double-double (10 rebounds). Big production from the bench as Dennis contributed 8 assists and 13 points and Mike Scott put in 14 points on 6/7 shooting.
